The hu'man' since the beginning of time has been a DIY person for almost the entire time since homo sapiens were introduced as a new 'evolved' species. The human was a cook, architect, nanny, inventor, doctor, house-maid, all in one kind of a go-to person but sadly, everyone had the same skill-set and nobody exactly knew the real meaning of making money through skills. Everyone was basically struggling to be just, well ALIVE.
Now fast-forward some 1.5 million years till just a while ago, say 3000 BC when trade actually started (according to google records).
This is when everything started getting more complex. Now, when the granaries of Indus Valley civilization were full of healthy harvests and mortality rate was declining, there came from the north, gold, rubies and other exotic extravagances of life. The human got confused as to what was the next thing that could make him happy?
Well, obviously the gold could make him happier, or perhaps the sparkling diamonds, oh no, the lustrous silk would do the job. Or probably something more, AND more!
So, now people started specializing, like when we specialize when we go for our Master's degree. There were priests to calm the soul, females to do the baby rearing and house chores and what not, artists to make such art that could instigate the soul, goldsmiths, blacksmiths, gardeners, chefs, architects and a whole plethora of such occupations which specialized in a particular field. So, this is how it all started.
Then there's a whole lot more which came into the picture, like envy, security, army, weaponry, wars, but that could be spared for later.
Till then. Stay 'happy' :)
